ROBCATRAZ was founded by certified personal trainer, Robert Rosado, a.k.a. Warden Rosado.
Robert's training style has developed organically. His experience is built upon 26 years of experience in the field of fitness. Many fads have come and gone, but doing basic movements that improve quality of life will never go out of style.
PHILOSOPHY OF TRAINING
Robert’s philosophy is simply that functional training improves performance. Whether clients lead active lifestyles and want to "improve their game", or are seeking to learn how add fitness into their lives, working out with Robert addresses movement outside of the gym.
At Robcatraz research drives training. Robert has built his philosophy upon using effective techniques and leaving ineffective fads behind. The fad work-out may have merit, but Robert’s training is evidence-based. This means that each exercise or strategy he uses is based upon research. He spends time investigating specific questions about clients’ needs and how to improve their lives through better movement.
PERFORMANCE IMPROVES AESTHETICS
Robert does not use gimmicks. Training with Robert is not about providing entertainment or wasting people’s time. If clients build upon performance goals through training, aesthetic improvement follows naturally. As mobility functioning improve the good physique follows.
Robert uses different functional training tools to individualize each client's program. Exercise bands, bodyweight exercises and kettlebells are among them. He is a kettlebell expert with RKC training. Robert has been honing his kettlebells skills for 14 years following the standards set by Pavel Tsatsouline. In 1998 Pavel was at the forefront of presenting the kettlebell as an exercise and strengthening tool here in the U.S. Robert feels that kettlebells are the perfect complement to functional training. Spine expert Stuart Mcgill is quoted saying "the kettlebell swing is one of best exercise for you lower back."
HOW MOBILITY DRILLS
AND FUNCTIONAL TRAINING IMPROVE LIFE
Mobility drills combat stiffness in the joints and break down mineral salts. Mineral salts that are not addressed can become harder and impede range of motion. Circulation improves in the joints as well as the muscles. This prepares the whole body to move. Relief is felt in improved flexibility, range of motion and can alleviate light muscle pain.
People lift, pull, push, lift objects overhead, sit and stand. Functional training consists of exercises that improve these everyday movements.
Over time our movement becomes inefficient due to aging and lack of use. Through functional training more efficient movement can be regained.
WHAT IS SOFT TISSUE WORK?
This work aims to alleviate aches, pains, injuries and limitations to mobility that are attributed adhesions and limited circulation in your body’s soft tissues.
