Robcatraz services a range of individuals from highly athletic to movement beginners. At Robcatraz no two fitness plans are alike. Each plan is created with the client's input, considering his/her level of fitness, past injuries, and medical history. Robert will work with the client to create functional training goals based on collaboration. Evaluation takes place in the first session and throughout training.
This includes soft tissue analysis and kinesthetic analysis making it possible for planning to achieve these goals. This is achieved through observing simple movements and soft tissue/mobility assessment, lasting 30-45 minutes.
The purpose of functional training is to address the client's goals by correcting dysfunctional movement patterns observed on evaluation, and strengthening his/her movement patterns. Whether the client is active and athletic, or at the beginning of his or her fitness journey, training based on movements used every day improves quality of life.
Training will include individually targeted activities as follows: ten minutes of soft tissue work, concentrating on problem areas, five minutes of mobility drills and stretching. Then 20-30 minutes of functional routine will be performed followed by a 5-10 minute cool down, typically consisting of stretching, lasting about 45-60 minutes total.
The perfect complement to functional training is conditioning. Some of the results that can be achieved are decrease in body fat, cardiovascular improvement, improved stamina, greater mobility and improvement in athletic performance. Each conditioning program is tailored to the individual's abilities and needs.
A typical session includes five to ten minutes of soft tissue work, five to ten minutes of mobility. These are followed by 15-20 minutes of conditioning, and finally a 5 minute cool-down.
